American Revolutionary Museum, Yorktown, Virginia
As a budding history buff (and occasional time-travel daydreamer), visiting Yorktown, Virginia felt like stepping right into the pages of an epic adventure! From strolling the storied battlefields to exploring the captivating exhibits at the American Revolution Museum, if you’ve ever wanted to channel your inner Hamilton or just snap a selfie with a cannon, this is the spot. The museums are interactive, fun, and even the gift shops are temptingly revolutionary—who knew tricorn hats were so flattering?
With America’s 250th birthday in 2026, Yorktown is THE place to celebrate our nation’s big milestone. There’s no better way to party like it’s 1776 (with modern amenities, thankfully) than soaking in the history where America’s independence was truly won. So grab your walking shoes, brush up on your “We the People,” and prepare for a trip that’s both educational and a blast from the past—literally!
For a delicious meal, especially if you like the local clams, stop in at the Yorktown Pub

Red Rocks Amphitheater, Morrison, Colorado
One thing EVERYONE should add to their bucket list is seeing a show at the Red Rocks Amphitheater! A natural rock environment that makes the music magical.
Beware, however; it will ruin you for any other venue.
This place is magical! I will go see just about anyone here; it's that good. The natural amphitheater makes the music sound celestial, and the views are just majestic! I am not exaggerating at all.
The other amazing thing about this place is that it's open to the public even when there is no concert. Many people hike it daily, as it is a bit of exercise to get up to it, and once in, it's a steep climb to the top of the venue. GREAT EXERCISE with amazing views of the city!
This was the last show I saw, Sheryl Crow in June of 2025.
An absolute must-do before you leave the planet, I assure you; it's worth whatever effort it takes to get here!
